Britannica Online

I am impressed with the four levels of Britannica offered to Maine libraries.  I helped my twelve year old son make a brochure for Health class.  We looked up articles that had to do with cigarette smoking.  We were able to use the images in our brochure and add information about why smoking is a bad idea.  He was pleased.  Teachers could do so much with this resource when presenting lessons.  Britannica offers a lot of great support to help new users learn the interface.  I started off watching the video tutorial which was hard to miss.

Marvelous Maine Week 1

My take-home information in this week’s lesson is the About information included with each database in Marvel.  This is a quick overview to let users know if the resource is age appropriate and  pertinent to the information need.

I am not exactly sure what I am doing with this new adventure but I am excited to learn about the many elements of the Marvel database.
